Dr. Alexandra Casalino
Biography
Dr. Alexandra Casalino earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. While in Florida, she trained in clinical and forensic psychology, specifically psychological and forensic assessment at various jails, prisons, outpatient clinics and rehabilitation centers.
Dr. Casalino completed her pre-doctoral internship at Tulane School of Medicine, where she continued to develop her psychological assessment and forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial and violent risk assessments. In addition, she continued to provide group and individual interventions with the severely mentally ill and substance abuse population, individuals diagnosed with personality disorders, and those involved with the justice system.
While working at Biobehavioral Company/Addition Recovery Resources in Metairie, Louisiana, Dr. Casalino completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology focusing on psychological assessment and psychotherapy addressing a variety of mental health presentations.
Dr. Casalino has extensive training and experience in completely psychological and forensic evaluations with adults. Currently in private practice, Dr. Casalino provides individual psychotherapy for adults, especially the young adult population, and provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for an assortment of concerns. Her therapeutic approach draws from humanistic, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theories. Dr. Casalino specializes in mood disorders, self-identity and self-esteem difficulties and substance use disorders.
